This is a board for getting help with the game (e.g. “How do I do this?” or “Why does this happen?”). In order to make it easier for people to address your thread, please keep the information in this post in mind.
It bears repeating that this is an unofficial forum. If you believe that you’re experiencing a bug, you should report it on TF2 Classic’s bug-tracker.
Before starting a thread
If you’re experiencing a technical issue with the game, make sure you’re running the latest version. If you’re not, update the game and see if the problem persists. If you’re using mods you should compare the results of running with and without mods. If the issue occurs on the latest version of the game and without mods running, take at look at the wiki’s “Troubleshooting”-page. It lists known, common issues with the game.
Next, you should search this board to see if anyone has already made a thread covering your topic – it may be that your question has already been answered. Threads that are deemed to be duplicates of other threads will be removed. Note that making a thread on a topic which has already been covered but for a different game-version is not considered to be duplication.
Information to include
The thread-title should be concise but descriptive. A more thorough description should be added to the post-body itself if needed. (Add one to be on the safe side if you’re unsure.)
For technical issues, please state what version of TF2 Classic you’re running, if you have any mods installed and if so which ones. You must also provide steps for reproducing your problem.
You may be asked to provide details about your system (operating-system, CPU-vendor, GPU-vendor, etc.). These can be obtained from Steam by going to Help > System Information. Steam will give you a lot of information, so instead of dumping all into a post it’s recommended that you either only include what’s asked for (or seems relevant) or use a service such as Pastebin and provide a link.
A thread should only be about one subject. If you have multiple, please split them into several threads, each covering one subject.
After your problem is resolved
Please indicate that you’ve received a satisfactory answer. A staff-member will apply the “Solved”-label to your post. Threads are not locked after being resolved, so the conversation may continue and additional concerns can be raised in post.
